Our Front Bar
![]() Beers on Tap The charming front bar features a large horseshoe shaped bar jutting into the middle of the room. There are 10 beers on tap plus an English-style hand-pump. 1 tap features the major lager that so many people seem to like to drink, but the other 9 taps plus the hand-pump, are reserved for the delightful range of Australian craft beers that has made the Royston famous among beer lovers world wide.
Menu Despite the quality of the beer and wine selection at the Royston it's the quality and value of the food coming out of Rob Clarke's kitchen that has got the foodie press all excited! That's why the Age referred to us as one of the best 10 counter meals in Melbourne (August 2009). That's why we feature on Page 99 of the 2009 Age Cheap Eats Guide. And it's why the Sunday Age gave us three stars in 2007. (so it's been going on for a while!) The menu includes the usual pub fare like parmas, fish & chips, burgers and steaks. They are big, tasty and exceptionally well cooked. But perhaps more remarkable are the dishes that far exceed anyone's expectations for a "counter meal". And everything that's on the dining room menu is also served up in the casual, vibey atmosphere of the front bar.
Like any good local, you'll see some of the same faces every time you visit. It's like a home away from home, so introduce yourself to the friendly guys and girls behind the bar and settle in...
